"You can see it in their eyes," [Fire Marshal Mike Jones] says. "They don't take their eyes off it (Sparky). It is a lot more interesting than just a fireman telling you to 'Stop, drop and roll.' " Jones believes that through using Sparky, people will better retain fire safety information. He says youngsters still come to him and talk about seeing Pluggie in their classroom five years ago.
