What about rush orders?
Every effort will be made to expedite your order. Final assembly and testing on robots is done after your order is received and this takes time. Please plan ahead and place your order well in advance for your needs. Rush orders can be accommodated, but there maybe an additional charge. Customer will be responsible for any additional shipping charges due to rush orders.
What about special body colors?
Standard body colors are indicated for each specific robot. If you need a non-standard color, you may order an all white body, and paint it as desired. Bodies are molded of ABS plastic and are easily painted.
Can I operate several robots together?
Yes and no! Several different control frequencies are available. Interference between voice systems is more difficult to prevent because of the limited number of available frequencies. On occasions where more than one robot is present at an activity, it works well to alternate operation, to maximize impact of the presentation. Another approach is to have one robot play an audio message while the other is talking. In any case, we would be glad to help you with any technical questions related to this subject.
Can options and add-ons be installed later?
Definitely they can! However, options and add-ons purchased for the original assembly of the robot receive preferred pricing. Thus, when options are ordered after delivery, the price will be higher.
Is there any way we can give recognition to our department or sponsoring organization(s) on the robot?
Yes. On the back of each vehicle robot is a license plate that can be imprinted with your department’s name or sponsor. On Pluggie it is a name plate. It is important that you specify what you would like on this plate at the time you order. As an option, custom decals are also available.
When painting my robot what type of paint should I use?
We recommend that you talk with your local paint store for applications to ABS plastic. Some spray paints can work, however, automotive paint is best (please call for suggestions or read our robot painting information).
Can I run my robot outside on dirt and grass?
No. The robot operates best on smooth flat surfaces. Tile, carpet, concrete and asphalt are acceptable. Dirt, gravel and grass are not good operating surfaces.
What is the difference between the super and standard motors?
For some robots, you can choose between standard drive motors and super drive motors. Standard motors work fine in most situations. Super motors are bigger, more powerful, and faster for outdoor use and other circumstances, such as parades, fairs, and gymnasium presentations.
What comes in the robot “Package?”
Depending on the robot, the package includes a carrying case for controls, two robot batteries and charger, detailed operator’s manual, radio control battery pack and charger, robot transport cart, and robot cover.
How can I find out about grants and fundraising opportunities?
Feel free to discuss your questions and ideas with our Sales Department. We have helped many organizations find fund sources, and with their research and grant writing ideas.
Does Robotronics have Sole Source documentation?
Yes. Please contact a sales representative for a copy of our Sole Source Documentation.
