The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs' (OJP) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for funding under the merican Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. This solicitation was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The deadline to complete your application is 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 9, 2009.

These funds may be used for local initiatives, including, but not limited to community-wide Crime Prevention and safety education programs by local Law Enforcement Entities and associated Citizens Groups. Total funding for this bill is in excess of 3 billion dollars, with awards payable directly to local entities as well as through state funding allocations.
